Hope Totes Care Day: Filling Bags With Love for Austin Kids in Foster Care

On Thursday, August 6, our friends at Hope Totes are gathering at 11602 Turtle Lane in Austin for a morning that means everything to a child who needs it most. From 9:00 to noon, volunteers will assemble Hope Totes, bags filled with essentials, comfort items, and a little bit of magic for children entering foster care or emergency shelters.

Hope Totes was built on a simple, powerful belief: no child should arrive at a new home with nothing but a trash bag of belongings. Every tote a volunteer packs becomes something so much bigger than the sum of its parts. It meets a child’s immediate needs. It restores dignity through personal care items chosen with real thought. It creates a meaningful connection between our community and a child who needs to know someone cares. And in a moment of real uncertainty, it delivers hope.
