"While a public debate rages on what do about homelessness in Austin, the private sector is stepping up big. Nonprofit Mobile Loaves & Fishes just announced plans to construct 1,400 micro homes at Community First Village, an ambitious expansion for a project that already provides housing for more than 220 formerly homeless men and women. Click through for more details on the expansion as well as details on other efforts around homelessness in the area.

Mobile Loaves & Fishes founder and CEO Alan Graham noted the organization builds about half of the micro homes at Community First! Village itself, while the other half are typically contributed by the homebuilding community, including other nonprofits such as HomeAid Austin."
